On October 21st at approximately 2300 hours (11:00 PM), Rio Vista Police Officer David Lamoree, driving his personal vehicle on his way home from work, was struck head-on by another vehicle attempting to pass a truck on State Route 12 west of State Route 113. The vehicle that struck the officer's vehicle had four occupants at the time of the crash, including 18-year-old Vincent Ellis from Stockton who was also killed. more...

Officer Lamoree had to be extricated from his vehicle and was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center where he passed away Sunday October 23rd at approximately 5:00 PM.

Officer Lamoree was a 2-year veteran of the Rio Vista Police Department. He was 26-years-old and leaves behind his Sister, Mother, Father and Wife of just six weeks.

A candle-light vigil was held at the Rio Vista Police Department, 50 Poppy House Road on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30 PM.

The funeral for Officer Lamoree was held Friday, October 28th at 11 o'clock AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Fairfield (video above).
